Jim, When I received Keysoft 6.1, I switched my Braillenot list digest settings to MIME. The MIME version of the digest appeared in my BN BT 32 with one attachment for each of the messages contained within the digest. If there were over 40 or so attachments, I would receive the error message as you described in your original post. I Consequently, switched my Braillenote list digest from MIME back to plain text.
Let me point out that I successfully receive messages on my BN in MIME format every day. Some of these MIME format messages even contain attachments. May I ask someone from Humanware to comment? Sincerely, Jerry Weinger -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of James Aldrich Sent: Friday, June 03, 2005 12:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Braillenote] Is this a known issue with 6.1.1? Hello list, Dar and I may have found the culprit! I would like to know if this is a known issue with 6.1.1? I was able to duplicate the problem in my unit as well when I created my wife's Email account in my BN. She is on a woman's list which sends two part messages in mime format. These usually discuss specials with QVC. I could read links on the message I saw but couldn't read much else with my BN. The problem is this: one starts to download their Email. All of a sudden, the email download process is aborted and the BN basically says there is not enough memory to continue downloading messages. I think it may be an error message. This morning, the download stopped after the third message. At that time, she had a total of 20 to download. When the inbox is checked, there were indeed three messages, the last of which was this message I described in two part mime format. As I say one gets the error message and one can't do anything else since no choices are presented. One can only stop the process or reset their unit. If one tries to download their messages again, the download will always stop where that two part message in mime format happens to be in the string of messages on the server. The BN does not remove messages from the server since the download is aborted upon receiving the post which is in two part mime format. You can try to download your messages again and again but your last message will always be the one which is in two part mime format. As I pointed out in previous posts, Dar would have 201 messages to download and her unit would stop at 68 or 70 messages. When she examined the last message in her inbox, it was always the one in two part mime format. The only way she can deal with this problem is download her messages on her PC. I understand these two part mime format messages come in some time in the morning. When she has downloaded her posts later in the day, the download is usually successful since there are no two part mime format messages in that group of downloaded messages. When there is such messages, the download process is aborted! I did say in previous posts that I never had issues with my Email on my BN with 6.1.1. I am on lists where one doesn't receive two part mime formatted messages, but Dar is on such a list and it is clear to me that these two part mime formatted messages are causing the download process in 6.1.1 to abort. I have been watching this off and on for two weeks now and it is clear to me since I have been able to duplicate the problem. Perhaps some women out here may be familiar with what I'm talking about. If so, try downloading your Email with your BN or BN PK and let me know whether you are having a similar experience! Perhaps those of you who have complained about not getting all your mail should check the last message in your inbox. It could easily be a two part message in mime format. This could be a very serious bug! If one is out of town, they could not deal with their Email once a two part message with mime format is on the server. One would need to call their provider to have them deleted perhaps. One cannot download beyond where that post in two part mime format is. Messages cannot be deleted from the server, everything is blocked! As I asked earlier, is this a known issue and what is being done about it? Sorry I drew this out but I want all of you to watch for this!
