Slight addition, using the Nvidia client GLX library over the standard SGI one that came with Ubuntu nets me a some subjectively smoother experience and a tiny increase in framerates. The driver installer of Nvidia however crashes immediately trying to run. I've asked Nvidia to supply an option to only copy the GLX stuff so their Linux installer can be used in BrandZ.
