I've heard of folks plumbing them, but the pour-over was something I really
wanted. If I'd wanted to direct plumb and drain, I'd have probably bought a
La Spaz or something. Having the reservoir on the side is actually a great
thing in my kitchen. With my old Silvia, I had to pull the sucker out from
under the cabinet to refill the reservoir (located in the back). With the
Brewt, I just pull the warming tray off, stick a funnel in the hole, and
pour from the Brita. Definitely the quickest part of the cleanup - the
grinder being the more time consuming part. On the Brewt, its just a quick
portafilter wiggle and backflush, empty the drip tray, pop the cup warmer
off, and fill 'er up.
