Hoping for some diagnostic intelligence from you more experienced Brewtus
folks. I grabbed Chris Bailey’s B2 last week for my brother-in-law and had a
chance to start the refurb process a few days ago.

1st problem ID’d was a dead pump. Ordered and installed today, I know water
has made it successfully to the steam boiler since it’s heating up, producing
big steam and the status light is coming on and off.

2nd problem was one of the Teflon hose that goes from the steam boiler to the
brew boiler was leaking. Replaced.

3rd problem is the brew boiler isn’t heating. I’ve measured 14.5 ohms across
the heater terminals and 0 ohms across either of the terminals and the boiler.
When detaching power from the heater and connecting my meter I see about 18
volts. I’ve seen 120V intermittently but it’s not reproduceable and apparently
never gets delivered to the brew boiler. It seems clear that something is
telling the controller not send 120V to the boiler.

The setting on the stock controller is at 96C.

The components I understand have a role in determining behavior are the
pressurestat, the heat sensors on each of the boilers. Is there a water level
sensor on the brew boiler?

Anyone care to venture a guess or give me pointers on where to look next?

Thanks much,

JPaul
