GenericVelocityPortlet render methods require a VelocityContext to be setup
which normally is taken care of automatically through the overridden render
method.
However, when a proxy or delegated invocation is used (like when using the
Jetspeed-2 edit_default mode), this doesn't go through the GenericPortlet
render method.
