I've often felt that it is a poor idea to describe individual people (or
even political parties, really) as left-wing or right-wing. Aren't the
ideals of a particular political party, much less that of an individual, far
too complex to quickly explain away with a trite hyphenated phrase? Or
perhaps I just have a limited understanding of politics.
