From: "John D. Giorgis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>John, your own arguments are guilty of the same contortions. I will absolutely give credit where credit is due: Bush put together a hell of a team. I don't agree with all their politics, but they are knowledgable and work together like a well-oiled machine. They support the man's weaknesses and strengths and make an administration that works pretty efficiently compared to Clinton's or Bush Sr's. He also has a press secretary that treats the press as if they were children. It may seem arrogant, but it's an extremely effective way of controlling media dissemination of the administration's party line.

I find it amazing to witness the intellectual contortions people will go
through to defend their pre-conceived notions about Bush.
However, let's remember that the man had pretty much no clue throughout his campaign about some pretty basic foreign policy details. He spouted platitudes and generalities in defense of his presidential policy plans when asked specific questions during three debates. I'm sure he's much more well versed now, but it's a virtually impossibility that the man became a Rhodes Scholar, much less an expert in foreign policy subtleties in a year. He is listening to his advisors -- which makes him a good CEO, not an expert diplomat.
Are the results good? Yes. Don't call the man a 'master diplomat'm though. That's inaccurate.
