I know many of the industrial shoe sales guys advise workers to wear nylons to help keep warm in the cold weather. Some of the guys in the workplace were saying before there were Nike "dry tights" it was pretty common for 'merican football players to wear pantyhose. Not sure about knee-hi's (over the calf only pantyhose) since the "one size fits all" might reduce circulation in some bigger calf males.
