You might have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which, if you're not
careful, can lead to diabetes.  Or, at least, so I've been told.  (My
mom has hypoglycemia and is fairly careful with her diet, especially
since both her parents developed mild diabetes in their 70s.)
