The US defended Western Europe against its main advisory by putting its own cities on the line for over 40 years. Western Europe didn't even have the ability to handle a small country that put its welfare at risk, just a few hundred kilometers from Munich. Again, with the exception of Britain Europe's main means of defending its vital interest is yelling "help" and expecting the US to come running. I take it you wouldn't have minded if Hussein became much more powerful than Europe after taking over the Middle East. He has stated it was his goal, and only the US was in a position to stop him. Was the US wrong in stopping Hussein in '91. I'm not even asking if the US was wrong in leading the effort to retake Kuwait, was it wrong in defending Saudi Arabia?
