Of course, after all this, Amazon.com has a picture of the paperback front cover. It says something like "The million copy bestseller about the end of the world."
And IIRC either Niven or Pournelle or both said at the time it came out that what they had set out to do was to write the ultimate "end of the world" novel . . .
Heh. Considering how old I was when the book came out I wouldn't have seen an interview with them unless they had appeared on the Muppet Show.
