Nothing works. linuxconf uses only text-mode interface [and does nothing useful]
Linuxconf has become quite useless, sadly. It was never really finished.
modem, sound, printer - can't use them CDRW - can't use it DVDROM - works as a CDROM synaptic - installs lots of game packages, but the user can't see them
Which distribution are you fighting with?
