It's because they're bored of it. Sex is that boring thing that old people do. Yuck! The more sex is on TV and in the movies and in magazines the less interesting it becomes. Take away the mystery and sex is a mundane and slightly icky act about as interesting as taking a leak.
It still feels better. At least until you get old enough that taking a leak becomes difficult enough that it's a great feeling whenever it works . . .
