I don't know where I fall in this particular debate -
the question of whether Hitler was particularly
motivated by attacking Jews or was using them as a
scapegoat or something else entirely is still, I
believe, debated (I lean towards the first).  This
particular fact, I am told, is not true, however.  I
was taught it myself when reading about the Second
World War, and one of my professors in college
actually used it in a lecture - only to come back to
us next week and tell us that he was incorrect, that
this fact was not true.
