I think you're right, Alberto.... the French clearly must have felt that
they were being outdone, because today they began joint naval exercises
with the Chinese navy of the coast of Taiwan, on the eve of Taiwan's
elections.

The last time the People's Republic tried to intimidate the only Chinese
people who have the right to vote for their top leaders, the United States
also warships to participate....a US carrier group to make it clear that we
would support democracy.    France, on the other hand, somehow saw it fit
to participate in the People's Republic's campaign of military intimidation.

At this rate, pretty soon it will be possible to argue that a primary
justification for the US to invade Iraq was *because* the French opposed
it.  ;-)
