--------------------------------------------- As a matter of fact, the wife and I just got back from a short vacation in Guam. We stayed at the Pacific Island Club Resort enjoying some nice warm weather after a cold Korean Winter. Had a great time. As for the SK government: hoo daddy!!! Ain't they a hoot?!?!?!? The parliment voted something like 196-3 to impeach President No (Noh or Roh depending our your romanization system) on electioneering (sp??) and incompetence. Poor SOB didn't even get a BJ, just did what most politicians do, lie and cheat. The political parties over here are even more polarized by hate than our two primary parties are fast becoming. Fist fights in the parliment are frequent (happens even more in Taiwan, but that's elsewhere). Part of it is because SK has not had elections for very long. After the "police action" and armitice (BTW, in case you didn't know, we are not at "Peace" here, we are in "armistice"--BIG difference), the SK leader was chosen by some general who was strong enough to take over. The first non-military elected President was Kim Yong Sam back in the early 90s, IIRC. The President has one 5-year term, so he doesn't have long to set his friends and family up for life. If that sounds horribly cynical, it is and was told to me by a Korean friend. George A _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
