Um... the states on the bottom half have lower populations, therefore, naturally, it takes more of them to equal the number of persons in the blue states. As for the IQ chart's provenance, that is still being fact-checked. But the poster makes that honestly clear. Meanwhile, look at the note there about an added correlation with DIVORCE RATE that sheds interesting light on "values."
