The Orange Box was the best game purchase I have made in at least five years, and that's in large part due to the sheer awesome of Portal, which I consider to be easily the best game of 2007 (although to be fair, my graphics card is poo so I never got to play Bioshock). Excellent puzzles, just the right length, and a wonky, dark sense of humor made it a truly excellent experience.
