Thank you!  That's an interesting article.

They used a lot of observing time on a large telescope, and seemed to be really pushing the limits.

I think the trickiest part was accounting for how "sun spots" would affect the relative luminosity of the parts of the star rotating towards versus away from us. One may just have to give up on finding
planets with orbital periods close to a star's rotational period?
