The Jazzman and Jazz Jr. proudly present:
The Kilkenny Ultimate Tournament 2001.
June 16th and 17th 2001 sees Ultimate descend for the first time on the sleepy Irish town of Kilkenny. Set in the leafy green surrounds of Kilkenny College, the tournament promises a weekend of quality ultimate in the home of Kilkenny Beer (brewery tours can be arranged and written into the game schedule if necessary). Booze, lunacy and ultimate guaranteed or your money back!
Reasons to come to Kilkenny:
Tournament entry fee is the low low price of IRL35 per team (approx 28 stg.) which can be paid on the Saturday. This is to help offset any travelling costs you may have.
These travelling costs can be minimised by booking in advance from airlines such as Ryanair (at www.ryanair.com) who fly to Dublin from Stanstead, Gatwick, Prestwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Bournemouth. The easiest way to get to Kilkenny from Dublin is by train or coach with many regular daily services.
You can also catch ferries from Fishguard, Holyhead and Liverpool.
Coach companies offer direct coaches to Dublin from most major UK cities.
The strength of the British pound at the moment means that you can now come to Ireland and buy more that ever before with your English (or Scottish) tenner. This is your chance to use your wealth to Lord it up over the Irish like your ancestors one did. Surely an opportunity not to be missed!
This is a prime opportunity to play some overseas ultimate without having to learn Flemish or Czech, as most of us Irish can speak something that at least approximates towards English.
Sort out that weekend off now and stock up on Alka-Seltzer.
More info to follow via tournament website. Details from britdisc soon.
