Finally,
I think I have it sorted.
Firstly, many, many, many thanks to the Dublin boys who have managed to rearrange
their tournament to fit our schedule - I am most grateful. The Dublin event is now the
weekend of 31st of March and 1st of April.
Second, thanks as ever to the few tournament directors (and others who offered) who
managed to come up with the goods at late notice once the EFDF finally sorted their
lives out.
Thirdly - some changes to the rules.
Some of the events are limited on pitch numbers, and so the entry rules will change
this year. No longer will the top teams get priority entrance - especially as they are
usually the worst at entering on time. This year deadlines will be enforced, and teams
that miss deadlines will not be allowed entry to events. If this means you are unable
to qualify for Nationals, WUCC in Hawaii, or do not win the tour then unlucky. You
have been warned. Emails of the 'it's in the post' will be ignored.
Cost - due to the escalating costs of hosting an event, and to make all the grief of
organising a tour event worthwhile the cost of entering a tour event has escalated and
was approved at the BUF AGM (If you don't like this go the AGM next and gripe). The
average tournament entry will be £150, with a sliding scale so that the higher seeded
teams who gain more pitch time will pay anything upto £180. Those smaller teams
further down the list an expect to pay less than £150. This includes BUF tax/deposit
of £15 per team, which will get you in the queue.
Women's events - there will be a couple of women's events at the later tour events.
These will be separate, and independent events to the open tour, simply held on the
same site. Maria Cahill is leading this little innovation, and more info will be
available in the invites.
At last the dates - Organisers contact details will go out on the mailshot along with
info on how to enter (GET ON THE BUF MAIL LIST BY ENTERING YOUR CONTACTS ON THE
WEBSITE - NOW!)
