Along the lines of a central database for 'frisbee-friendly' venues, is
there an information pack available through UKU for prospective TDs?

Also, would a 'UKU stamp of approval' or a direct relationship with UKU help
find/keep venues? Specific individuals would not need to forge or maintain
relations, more or less putting them 'in charge' (whether they want it or
not) of the venue, simply because they are identified with it. (does that
make sense?) I;m trying to say that venue managers will view a successful
and problem-free tournament as a feature of Ultimate, rather than as a
by-product of a good relationship with a particular person. Thus UKU could
approach further venues with positive recommendations from other venue
managers.

A lot currently relies on the efforts of individuals and, more importantly,
the initiative of individuals. The support of UKU will prove to be very
important in the further growth of Ultimate in Britain, even if it's just
endorsements. From there we'll get strategies, demonstration days, organised
trips into schools and a partridge in a pear tree.

ps: I particularly liked the idea of the demonstration game at Glastonbury
last year
