It came to me last year that having a website that provided a first step for tournament organising would be incredibly useful. I am currently in the process of designing it: www.discspace.uk.com I invisaged a site that not only offered a geographic-specific database of venues with a range of team capacities but also schedule templates, accomodation listings (as a link), 'ultimate friendly' sponsors (eg. Redbull) T-shirt printer links, invite templates, cone/score board hire and many other features that would not only encourage tournament directing but also improve the structure and running of tournaments. I must confess i first saw this site as a financial opportunity but only through advertising as it will be a free service, i will continue planning this site with aim to have it up and running by september as long as i have ukultimate's approval... if the UKU Administrator expresses a wish to follow through with their own database i wont pursue this venture any further. I would like to hear peoples comments.
