>There are still places at Tour 2 so get your entry in NOW!!!!!!

Surely there's no hurry? Everyone should be aware of http://www.ukultimate.com/docs/tour2002rules.htm which say:
"Distribution of places
  1. When a club is hosting an event they are given two automatic places (but must still meet the entry deadlines).
  2. Teams ranked 1-21 at the previous event are guaranteed a place (provided that they meet the entry deadlines).
  3. Remaining places are allocated initially to teams who were refused entry to the previous event through relegation or over-subscription, and then to teams based on finishing position from the previous event.
  4. Once the entry deadline has passed, any unfilled places at the tournament are available to filled by the TD, to any team wishing to enter."
Which means that so long as teams meet the deadline specified by Kev (3rd May) teams will be allocated places according to where they finished on Sunday, NOT how quickly they get their cheques in. It's going to take some waiting list management over the season and really everyone could do with knowing the size of the waiting list and capacity of the next Tour event so that teams know where the relegation places begin at each Tour event.

eg - 4 women's team enter Tour 2 so Kev has room for 36 open teams. All top 36 from Tour 1 enter and according to the rules are allowed in, whether or not other teams get cheques in faster. Let's say the 8 teams 37->44 also enter Tour 2 but are denied entry due to capacity constraints. They go on the waiting list (presumably in the order of finishing Tour 1, although the rules aren't clear). Now let's say Tour 3 is also 36 team capacity: the top 21 from Tour 2 automatically get in, as do the 8 on the waiting list - leaving 7 slots for teams that place 22-28 in Tour 2. The bottom 8 teams from Tour 2 will therefore all be relegated to the waiting list and will have to wait until Tour 4 to get back in. However, if Red 2 finished lower than 28th at Tour 2, because Red are running Tour 3 they get two slots at Tour 3 - so the team placing 28th would be relegated as well.

Should bring a bit of bite to more of those play-off games at Tour 2 anyway!

And well done Chevvy for giving one half of Clapham such a great game on Sunday. Bodes well for a more competitive season in the Top 8 than last year and better preparation for us all for Hawaii. Bring on Tour 2 :-)
