2005 Tour 1 - Bristol

Tournament Organisation

A Tour
·       The Saturday format of A tour will now take place in three sections;

1. For 1-12 teams the first game will be cross-over.

2. Winners of the cross-over game will progress to two 3 team pools
(pools A & B) to decide the 1-6 seeds for Sunday. Losers of the cross-over
games will play in a similar pair of pools (pools C & D) to decide the 7-12
seeds for Sunday. This means that teams in the 1-6 pools will automatically
progress to the 1-8 KO along with the winner of each of the 7-12 pools.

· Teams in the 13-16 pool will play a four way pool (pool E) to decide
seeding positions for Sunday.

· Sunday Knockout: 1-8; 9-16.

· All games to be played to 15 points or 1 hr. 30 mins. + 2 point cap.
Teams must win by 2 clear points at all times, unless a score of 17 or the cap
is reached.

· All games to include 5 min. max. half-time. Teams have 2 Time-Outs per
half. TO's may be used in the cap. In overtime teams are allowed 1 TO,

occurs at 14-14.

B Tour
· 1st Round: Eight pools of 4 (pools F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M).

· Cross-over: Each 2nd placed team at the end f the pools will play a 3rd
placed team. This ensures that all teams have the opportunity to progress as
high as possible in Tour 1.

· Knockout: 1-16, 17-32

· All games to be played to 11 points or 45 mins + 2 point cap. Teams
must win by 2 clear points at all times, unless a score of 11 or the cap is
reached.

· All games to include 2 min. max. half-time. Teams have 1 Time-Out per
half. TO's may be used in the cap. In overtime teams are allowed 1 TO,

· Knockout: 1-8; 1 pool of 4: 9-12 (pool Q).

· All games to be played to 11 points or 45 mins + 2 point cap. Teams
must win by 2 clear points at all times, unless a score of 11 or the cap is
reached.

Other Rules
· Please ensure that you report your results and fill in the results
sheets for the games and cross-overs provided. Please return Saturdays results
and at the end of Saturday.

· Late Teams - If a team is late to the start of a game then they are
given five minutes grace, before losing a point at the end of every minute once
the five minutes have elapsed. During those five minutes it is your
responsibility to find your opposition; they may still be playing a previous
game; they may be involved in the calculation of a tied pool, and do not know
who they play next (speak to them, let them know you are waiting). In these
situations a game starts as soon as it is reasonable, but MUST finish on time,
do not extend your game. Do not waste time in long end of game calls - teams
may be waiting.

· You may, but do not have to, play a team that cannot field seven
players. You can start taking points.

· In the event of a tied pool, the pool is determined using Tour (and
WFDF) rules; 1) Points difference between tied teams; 2) Points scored by
tied teams; 3) Points difference throughout whole pool 4) Points scored
throughout whole pool; 5) as per remaining WFDF rules.

· WFDF Rules - The official WFDF rules have not changed since last year,
so we will continue to play to 2002 WFDF rules.

· Copies of the Tour rules are available on the UKU web site. Copies of
the WFDF rules are available on the WFDF web site.

Spirit Voting
· The spirit voting system used last year was successful, but took too
long to calculate. Therefore it has been scrapped. This year we will return
to an older method.

· Each team will award three spirit votes - a three point, two point and
one point vote. However the total marks received by a team will be averaged by
the number of games they have played to ensure that teams that play fewer games
are not disadvantaged.

· Teams who fail to submit Spirit score will not be eligible to win a
spirit award.

· Overall Tour Spirit results will be give for each Tour series. The top
16 finishing teams at the end of the tour will be included in the A tour, all
others in the B tour. All spirit marks obtained in either series will be
include in the calculation of the final result.

IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENTS

1. All players playing at this event MUST be a UKU member (including
guests). All players in the A Tour must be rostered on their club roster
(excluding guests). Any teams fielding an ineligible player may be penalised
points earned at this event. This may result in relegation. Checks will be
made.

2. The 2005 Tour rules have not been published yet (apologies). The
rules will continue as the 2004 edition, with the usual appropriate annual
adjustments made. There are no major changes. The 2005 edition will be posted
soon, in the meantime assume the 2004 rules are correct.

Any questions or queries should be directed to the Tournament Director or
Director of Competitions prior to the beginning of play on Saturday.
