I have been informed that the UKUA have a plan to hold some form of qualifying tournament later this year. An official announcement (details, etc) is due after EUCC'05.
It seems that it is time for all Clubs and players to make plans for attending (or not attending!) WUCC'06 and consider how this affects their 2006 UKUA season. It is only EXTREMELY hypothetical at this stage but shouldn't be totally discounted. Legends of British Ultimate (and any decent Johnny Foreigners) based in and around London are welcome to email me if you're interested: I'm happy to put a list together slowly. No need for any kind of commitment at this stage - it's just a very early sounding out. If we have more teams wanting to play than slots I guess some kind of play-off would be in order. R -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Wayne Retter Sent: 27 June 2005 00:42 To: Britdisc Subject: [BD] Masters at WUCC'06 I was hoping to leave this until after EUCC'05, but now is probably a reasonable time... I have heard several ruminations about potential UK Masters teams (Age Against the Machine; Blue Arse Flies?; Bristol?) considering attending WUCC'06 in Perth, WA, next November. Does the UKUA have any particular plan on how UK Masters teams would qualify for places at WUCC? It is my understanding that all other divisions are using the 2005 nationals/tour results - but the UKUA doesn't have a 2005 Masters division to qualify from... I'd also guess that there's a possibility that the UK may be offered 2 or 3 Masters places, due to GB's Bronze finish at WUGC'04. Have any teams/players put in much _serious_ thought as to whether they'd like to go to Perth if they qualify? 'Very soon' will probably the time to be making those decisions, and definitely to be coming up with some kind of savings plan...
