Thanks to all the teams who made the trip up to York for last weekend's Nationals.
The Lookfly sponsored final saw a strong Mowers team convincingly beat Ocelots to take the 2005 Junior Outdoor Ultimate Champions title. Final standings: 1 Mowers 2 Ocelots 3 Team Mongosling 4 Catch Those 5 Huckleberry Fling 6 Fantasticos 7 Arthur Terry School 8 GB Junior Women Spirit of the Game: Arthur Terry School Lookfly Most Spirited Players: Trina (Mowers) and Bushy (Ocelots) The weekend saw some high quality ultimate from all of the teams, although this was hampered by the winds on Saturday. Much fancied Huckleberry Fling were short on numbers and struggled against first timers Fantasticos before losing to Team Mongosling late on Saturday. Mowers began their rampage, winning all four Saturday games and conceding only 9 goals. The highlight game of the day was Ocelots v catch Those in which Ocelots won 11-10 in sudden death. Sunday was very hot, and all the teams were tired, but everyone had improved from Saturday and the standard was much higher. Mowers continued to dominate, this time only conceding 4 goals all day! The highlights were Fantasticos coming back from 3 down to equalise on the hooter and then lose in sudden death, and Ocelots' great comeback against Team Mongosling to make the final, their huge squad winning out in the end. Despite coming last GB women look good for Sweden and we wish them all the best for the tournament. Thankyou to all of the players and coaches who came to the tournament, particularly all those who helped clear up at th end. Thankyou too to the council (in particularly Liz) who were fantastic in every way.
