Some of us (still playing Ultimate in the London League) are now so old they
actually bought and still own copies of both these books when they came out!
³Frisbee by the Masters² is the earliest. My copy was printed in 1977,
it¹s a classic and when I bought it was, I believe, the only published
Œmanual¹ available at the time. I also have the excellent and rather quaint
³Frisbee Players Handbook² by Mark Danna and Dan Poynter which came out the
following year. I bought my round soft cover copy together with the yellow
³Wham-O Frisbee² it came with in 1980 and the disk still flies now and then!
This is equally as great as Frisbee by the Masters and contains a wealth of
info on Frisbee history, games and techniques. (Including a section on how
to catch a disk with your arss! I kid you not!) Did you know for instance
that the IFA established in 1967 drew up Proficiency Standards to test
players ability, and you could take a test to gain a certificate as a
Novice, Expert, Master, or World Class Master! (World Class Master¹s are
obviously able to perform the arss catch with ease... I guess I¹m not quite
there yet)!... Sigh... Enough anorak for one day..
Disk Up!

See if you can find a copy of "Frisbee By The Masters".... by Charles
Tips

 From 1977 according to Amazon.com

I never owned a copy, but my friend at school did. It almost became
our bible!
