I like many of the proposed changes that have been voiced on the UKU pages.
Shorter season, more desire to improve mixed and change of nationals.

I do, however, think that the season nees to be the same for all divisions, but at separate venues. I feel we need to make players choose mixed or other and stay with this. Most major international tournaments are in July/August, so all tours should happen before hand. I also see no reason to reduce the number of
tour events.

I can't see how allowing players to play both open/womens and mixed and then
choosing who to play for at the international tournaments depending on who
qualified where is the way forward.

Overall I feel, maybe a 2-3 month period, say mid April - June for all tour events (I'm suggesting mixed to be held at different venue to open) with a 3 day nationals
(the suggested August bank holiday weekend) with all 3 events consisting of:

Open, top 8
Mixed, top 8
Womens, top 8
Round robin (7 games over 2 days), with top two of each division playing finals
on the Monday as happens at all major international tournaments.

This would mean that students should be able to attend tour events, all divisions would be generally finishing in time for July/August when most European and World events are held and finishing the season with our National events. It makes the Nationals an event for anyone to see, as all finals would be available for all to watch. There is no question of bad pools/seedings as everyone is playing everyone. It is the tournament to find the best of the best and worth the general public viewing to help promotion.

That should leave July/August/September for any other tournament.

My views, la la la, etc.
