The Copa happened this past long weekend and I swear it's going to be the death of me. Thanks to all teams who attended. Everyone contributed to running the event through litter picking all weekend. We were done with the litter in a record half hour for 10 pitches after it was all over. That was simply driving around collected the bin bags.
So if you were there, I hope you're still talking about it, if you weren't...we here's what you missed...two live bands, two massage areas, hot tub, flood light night time all star game, the jaimie cross toga karaoke party, outdoor disco, all night bar, all night DJs, Shaving Jesus, 3days of good weather , personalised tournament Ts, dogtags, beer, great food, barry manilow, and of course the majestic old lady who will seemingly never die, the Copa Cabana Marquee Tent. The winners this year were the defending champions the Notorious Confusables. Plate went to Team Montage, Spoon to Drugstore Cowboys. Spirit went to Boogie Knights although it was their random (and lucky) pickup who was the only person left at the presentation to collect the prize. Lube from Mental Discs won Karaoke for his attempt at Jet's 'Are you gonna be my girl'. He didn't win it for quality, he won it for having the balls to try it. Jesus raised around £400 shaving his whole head for charity via his silent bids/donation night and auction. Contest: Because we did custom T's shirts there are almost 100 different phrases on Copa Cabana T shirts in the world now. Like spotting Eddie Stobart lorries we want you to spot Copa T shirt phrases. I have a list of them all so the team that submits the largest number of correct Copa T phrases when we announce next years Copa in the spring 2006 will get in for half price. Start collecting them now. Lost Property...if you lost something...email me. Because of the naked point during the all star game we ended up with quite a bit of clothing. We'll throw away the knickers but try to return the rest. Ok that's it. Thanks again. I'll start working on next years now.
