Hi, I've spent the last couple of days trying to check that a team mate was an official member, and can only imagine how much work the UKU committee have checking the current rosters. This got me thinking...
Would it be possible for main contacts to view the current player numbers for their team while on the UKU site? I would have thought that if this information is being produced from the database, it shouldn't be too difficult to include. As a general point for future discussion, would it be worthwhile compiling team sheets from the UKU web site (for clubs, UKU or both)? Possum p.s. Here are some initial ideas to go with the above question: Benefits 1. Less administration for UKU 2. Simpler comparison of official records & club records 3. Easier checking of player number 4. Easier checking of membership status Drawbacks 1. More work for the web developer 2. Need a space to handle up to 3 guests (presuming a team enters 3 players) 3. Various oversights I've not considered Comments: 1. It appears that Ultimate in the UK is trying to get more organised and do things less last minute 2. Most players are expected to use the UKU site (except for teams or guest players that can't access the Internet) 3. Main Contacts can currently see a list of all players on their team, but doesn't give their player number or confirm membership status 4. Team roster submission are generally to be done on the Internet, including changes. 5. I can't comment on how the UKU currently does their roster checking, so it may already be both quick and effective --- Laura Pearce <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Please can those teams who have not yet submitted their > rosters for tour > 2 please send them immediately to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] so that > they can be checked before the weekend. > > UKUA Chair > > > > __________________________________________________ > BritDisc mailing list > [email protected] > http://mailman.ranulf.net/mailman/listinfo/britdisc > Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/informed.asp > ___________________________________________________________ Try the all-new Yahoo!
