"Where is the prize" you ask? "Explain yourself" you say? GB Women are still working on getting wonderful prizes to offer our winners (other than national and international exposure and a warm fuzzy feeling inside) but in the meantime, we wanted to get our message out about the competition early. We are an amateur women's sports team, trying to promote the celebration and visibility of British women athletes and we realise that our limited offering in terms of a prize may reduce the number of photographers interested in entering. This is the plight of women in sport who get very little funding or support, and certainly little visibilitythrough the media. We are working hard to make the competition exciting for photographers, but realise we will most likely attract those who are passionate about our cause: the celebration of hard working, active, under-funded, under-represented women in Britain. Also, because we will be taking entries from a variety of sports, please submit your photos of ultimate women to help our sport gain much-needed visibility as well. Photographers will of course be credited for their photographs (and their websites/contact information mentioned) and we only seek the rights to potentially display your photo on our website and/or print them in our magazine alongside articles from prominent British women in sport (and therefore seek no long terms rights to your photographs). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly. This competition is a process (and a first-time one at that), so the kinks are still being worked out and I appreciate your feedback and patience. Cheers and see you at Tour 1 (we can chat then too!), Alena Iceni #79
