I think that part of the reason that more people/teams don't step up and organize a tournament is that they have no idea how to and of all the things that are involved in running one. After all these years of running tournaments, there should be a "guidelines to running a tour" document up on the UKUA website that lists what's required beyond just the standard bid information. Otherwise, every time someone new steps up to organize one (like a few of us GB ladies who organized tour 0 went through this year) they're starting from scratch. Just another thought on how things can be improved. Not difficult to achieve either. > Date: Tue, 13 May 2008 12:26:46 +0100 > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To: [email protected] > Subject: [BD] I refer the honourable gentlemen to the points I made > last year...and the year before... > > Oh goody, another re-hash of this old beauty (no pun intended Haman!) > of a topic. > > > > In summary...plentiful water = desirable, a multitude of travel options > = desirable, a schedule planned years in advance = desirable, a player > on your team who can land the pull in that miniscule 100x40m area = > desirable, crowd for the final = who gives a...etc. > > > > Things could be better no doubt, but what hasn't changed in recent > years is the lack of people willing to step up and organise Tour > events (in fact it has probably reduced since I started playing).
