Hi BD Back in August the Copa Cabana we kicked some butt with the EWA team in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices and the Ultimate community responded.
In the run up to Copa de Crimbo, the month formerly known as November, I’ve decided to donate my face to raising awareness about prostate cancer. As I'll be 40 soon (yes I'm still under 40) which will more than likely require the beginning of a lifelong series of invasive check-ups to prevent such a disease I've decided an ounce of prevention is a pound of cure. Not only do we all know that cancer is "the bad-ass" of diseases but in fact prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. One man dies every hour from the disease in the UK. Lots of people do this Movember thing so I'm going to step it up and stretch it straight into Mocember until my epic DJ set at the party for Copa de Crimbo. The evening of Sat the 18th of December I will be rocking the house, displaying what will surely be a frightening yet strangely arousing moustache in all it's glory. • Join me in my quest. Click this link http://uk.movember.com/donate/your-details/member_id/1090566/ and donate online and while you do why not make a request to the DJ at the same time. Even if you stick the equivalent of a pint down I'd really appreciate it. • Fear on technology based payments? Send cheques and CAF vouchers (made payable to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity Re Movember’) directly to The Prostate Cancer Charity – First Floor, Cambridge House, Cambridge Grove, London W6 0LE. Be sure to include the my name or URL n the back of the cheque. The Prostate Cancer Charity will use the money raised by Movember for the development of programs related to awareness, public education, advocacy, support of those affected, and research into the prevention, detection, treatment and cure of prostate cancer. Did you see that...CURE. Pretty ambitious but I think we can do it. Never heard of Movember? For more details on Movember and how the funds raised from previous campaigns have been used and the impact Movember is having please visit http://uk.movemberfoundation.com/research-and-programs. Thank you in advance and hopefully see you in December at Copa de Crimbo.
