Dear Liam I would be interested in giving my time to help this event, not only on the day but if there’s any way I can help beforehand then please let me know. I’m a level one coach and have coached my own team in Wrexham as well has working for Wiltshire Alterative Youth Sports (WAYS) where I helped coaching ultimate mainly to beginners as well as coaching a range of other alterative sports. As a part of this I attended many events like the one described here to coach and in one case help plan and run the event on the day.
In term of my experience of working with young people, I current work as a participation worker on a national project for the charity UK Youth and before I worked or volunteered in a range of different youth work roles for 6 years. I now currently training with Guildford and have been appointed their junior coordinator. So far in my new role I have organised two taster sessions at for the local college (different campus) and now running a club in a secondary school in Woking. I’m glad to say I was very recently appointed the new GB juniors open manager. I’ve still got a lot to learn about this new role but I hope show the young people on the day the possibility of playing ultimate at a high level. I hope I don’t sound like I’m blowing my own trumpet, I was just wanted to highlight this is something I would been very interested in and had a experience in the past of doing similar, to the point where at one point I nearly set up my own business coaching alterative sports. I currently live in Guildford so the Slough event would be my closest but Kettering isn’t too far away either so I would be happy to help out at those events. Please get in touch as I said I would be happy to help where I can.
