Hello,

The UK Ultimate coaching scheme is looking to recruit a handful of new coach
educators to the support the delivery of our Foundation level courses
(Leader Award and Sports Leader Award). UK Ultimate has recently been
working with an organisation called the Youth Sport Trust and their
corporate partners Matalan. As a result we are expecting a bump in the
numbers of schools looking for foundation introductory courses, in the
summer term around May and June.

UKU Coach Educators need to have obvious enthusiasm for both Ultimate and
coaching as well as being a great representative of our sport. They must
have a clear understanding of spirit of the game. A key component of these
workshops is to introduce and discuss self-refereeing and its implications.

It is important for candidates to have experience coaching Ultimate with
beginners and preferably (but not required) for young participants.

Naturally we are looking for individuals that have an ability to quickly
build a rapport with people, and can communicate clearly and
confidently. Experience of teaching, coaching, presenting (not necessarily
in a sports-setting) will be helpful.

The nature of these workshops means that Coach Educators need to have a
flexible working/studying situation where they able to deliver three hour
workshops during the working week and/or, to a lesser extent,
weekends. Access to a car is preferable, but not absolutely required if you
are happy and able to travel via public transport.

In particular we are looking for people based near the M1 and/or
A1(m). However we are still keen to recruit suitable candidates from other
areas of the UK.

We are, of course, delighted to hear from people that want, or are able, to
do this on a voluntary basis, but we normally expect to pay £60-£100 +
travel costs for the delivery of these workshops. We may also provide some
support with equipment costs, but this will depend on the expected level of
involvement.

Naturally the role will require people to have an enhanced CRB check as part
of assessing their suitability of working with children and young people.
This process also requires references and self disclosures. Having a
criminal record does not bar a person from working with children and young
people, it will check their relevant suitability for working in that
environment.

Please email [email protected] with a simple application email, your full
contact details and your location.
