One of the outcomes of this project is that schools have been given a small amount of funding to create an Ultimate club. The John Spence school did one of our Leader Awards a couple of weeks ago where 28 young people attended. They have now been asked to show off their newly acquired skills by running a tournament for their lower year-groups. The day is going to be covered by the local & national media and will be attended by the project patron Sir Steve Redgrave. This is a very high profile media opportunity for Ultimate. Whenever we get the opportunity for national coverage, or any media coverage, we can always expect it will drive people to seek out opportunities to try Ultimate for themselves and help take steps towards Ultimate being widely recognised & understood (for lack of a better word). The school has asked us what we can do to help them on this day. I thought this would be a great opportunity for us to support them and help make sure the day runs smoothly, well and correctly; while Ultimate is under the watchful eye of the National Media. Details The day is happening on Thursday the 14th of July. It is in the afternoon 13:00 till 15:00. Are you available on that day? For now, we are asking that people are available to support the teachers and young leaders for their "festival" media day. We are not expecting anyone to "project manage" the event. We are just their for support. If you are able to commit to that time/date (understanding that it's in the working week!) then we would be very grateful.
