Hi all Yes, that time has come again! Following on from last year's huge success with Leeds' first Experienced/Beginners Tournament, we welcome everyone back for what promises to be yet another fantastic weekend!
Taking place on the weekend of the 15th/16th October 2011, at the University of Leeds' on-campus EDGE Sports Centre, with a party that you know only Leeds could produce! The current format holds space for 12 teams in both the Beginners and Experienced divisions, with both expected to attract the same high quality ultimate! With last year’s Experienced Division boasting the likes of Magic Toast (Mixed Tour 2010 Champions) and Mexican Horse Bandits (the GB old boys if they don't mind me calling them that), we hope that this year, the Experienced Division will again provide the perfect preparation for any university teams in the lead up to their respective indoor regional competitions. For the Beginners, as well as the added extra of the experienced division to gaze in wonder at, they too will have a division which will allow them to work on their skills and learn the way of the game. Teams in both Divisions will be able to enjoy 8 games over the weekend, with the added convenience of 3 pitches all located next to each other, allowing for the minimum of 21 minute games (none of this 18 minute malarkey). So, what are you waiting for?! At a reasonable price of £110, with a discounted price of £100 for each team that you enter (should you enter more than one), together with the usual free floor space and a party to be held on campus, we can only promise that this will be one hell of a weekend! The usual beginners format of one experienced player with an amusing hat/costume (no scoring, unless at the party) and loose mixed teams (at least one of the opposite gender) applies. For the experienced tournament, just make sure you bring your lavish celebrations (even if these are low fives!). Accommodation will be arranged for the Friday & Saturday night as required, all within walking distance of the party allowing for only your most dippy of Freshers to get lost!
