[For an application form, please email <gbopenbeach[at]gmail.com> ] The European Championships Beach Ultimate 2013 will be held at Calafell Beach (Tarragona, Spain) from the 27th to the 30th of June 2013 and is expected to be played in 6 divisions (Open, women, mixed, masters and mixed-masters and grand-masters).
We are creating a team to win Gold at the tournament, and are looking for an assistant manager/coach to join the team management/coaching set up. In collaboration with the team manager/captains, this role would comprise the following duties, depending on experience. 1. Team logistics for trials, training, and tournaments. 2. Collate training information from the squad and liaise with the Strength & Conditioning coach. 3. Planning and delivering training sessions (coaching). 4. Scouting opposition players/teams. 5. Calling lines, making tactical adjustments etc during games. 6. Other duties as necessary. The successful candidate will have the opportunity as part of an elite athletic programme, to develop strategy and tactics in partnership with the team management for an international event. They will play a key role in the development of GB calibre players and provide leadership in the formation of the team. This experience could be used as a “stepping stone” for future club or international coaching/management roles. It is unlikely that financial remuneration will be available for the successful candidate, and therefore the ability to self-fund will be a necessary part of the selection decision. Key Milestones for Role September 2012 – Selection of Trial Squad 13/14 October 2012 – Trial 1 (London/Bournemouth TBC) 3/4 November 2012 – Trial 2 (London) March 2013 – Training Camp (1 day) March/April 2013 – Trial 2: Paganello April 2013 – Final team selection May 2013 – Training Camp/Tournament (2 day) June 2013 – Training Camp (1 day) 27-30 June 2013 – ECBU2013 NB: Please note that this is a non-playing role.
