2 emails in 1 day ... what can I say it's a slow day at work. In other news ...
There are going to be 2 competing "professional" Ultimate leagues in the USA next season as well as a restructuring of the USA Club Ultimate to include a Tour structure (sound familiar?) The American Ultimate Disc League www.theaudl.com Inaugural season last year with 8 teams, different rules to Ultimate as we know it (referees being one obvious change) ... the Philadelphia Spinners won the Championship game and promptly left the league to start one of their own ... leaving the original 7 teams + 7 more for the 2013 season ... Major League Ultimate www.mlultimate.com Looks like 10 teams for the inaugural 2013 season ... sparse on details (more on 12th November) like rules, etc ... but should be a fun one to watch developing ... USA Ultimate Triple Crown Tour www.usaultimate.org/triplecrowntour/ Open to everyone, 4 levels of play, prize money & rankings for their Club Championships on offer. Not quite as rigid a structure as over here but a similar principle ... I hear rumours of a "quite good" UK team perhaps heading over for some of the US competitions next season ... Time to tidy the office I feel :-) Luke T __________________________________________________ BritDisc mailing list [email protected] http://www.fysh.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/britdisc Staying informed - http://www.ukultimate.com/staying-informed
