After the success of the Draft League (http://budl.webs.com/) and the indoor fun of WIBL (http://wibl12.webs.com/), I'm happy to announce a fresh Ultimate event in Brighton happening in February - BUDIT! (http://budit.webs.com/)
What: Brighton Ultimate Draft Indoor Tournament (Mixed, depending on numbers) Where: BACA Sports Centre, Falmer When: 15/16/17th February 2013 (Friday evening to Sunday) Who: You! Individual players sign up and are picked by team captains on Draft Night - expecting minimum 8 teams, max 16, 6-8 players per team, around 4 games per day. How much: £17 per person (early bird) - £20 after Xmas - sign-up here: http://budit.webs.com/ Draft Night will be held in The Druids pub in Brighton on Friday evening just before the weekend, it's recommended you come along to see which captain picks you & to meet your team & have a night out, but not obligatory. Saturday games start late (12:40pm), after the games we'll meet in the Druids and see where things go from there (night out in Brighton!), then Sunday morning more games & finals to decide the BUDIT Champions! At Draft Night, selected captains will take turns picking players for their teams until all players have been picked. We'll make use of the big screen so you can keep track of who has been picked for which team, and the PA system with microphones will be in use so you can hear what the captains have to say about their picks. Depending on the number of players and captains, we'll have either a 6-8 team tournament or two divisions of 5-8 teams (where the 2nd division teams are picked by the same captains, but they just coach / sideline for their games). After all the picks have been made, you're encouraged to make use of the special deal we'll have with the pub - have a few drinks with your new teammates and see where the night takes you, as the Saturday start is late for everybody! Saturday & Sunday all teams will play their games from 12:40-17:40 on Saturday and 09:20-15:20 on Sunday, culminating in a Grand Final to determine the BUDIT Champions 2013. This is a great way to meet players you don't often get to play with and have a great weekend out in Brighton, so why not sign up individually for a fun weekend, or persuade your teammates to sign up to the draft with you?
