Great Britain U20s Open staff are pleased to announce the trials for the 2013 Junior European squad. *First Stage Trial* *Date: Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd February* *Times: 11am until 4:30pm on Saturday and 9am until 2pm on Sunday* *Cost: £25* *Second Stage Trial *(invite only after 1st Trial) *Date: Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th February* *Times: 11am until 4:30pm on Saturday and 9am until 2pm on Sunday* *Cost: £25* * * *Please book your travel as soon as possible to get cheap tickets*. We also suggest getting a young person’s rail card to help reduce costs. *Field Location:* Aylesford School, Shelley Ave, Warwick, CV34 6LA (01926 747 100) The nearest train station is *Warwick Parkway* (we can organise lifts from here but you will need to let us know at least 2 days before otherwise we won’t be able to pick you up). There are changing facilities and free parking onsite. Please aim to arrive in time to be ready to warm up at the starting time. Included in the cost for the weekend are dinner and accommodation on Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning. *The accommodation details are:* Westend Centre, Hampton Road, Warwick, CV34 6JP (01926 490 444) It is only a 5 minute walk from the pitches and parking is available. *Signing up*** The trial is open to any player born 1 January 1994 or later and holds a British passport or is eligible by being resident in the UK. Players eligible for U17s (born later than 1 January 1997) are welcome and encouraged to attend trials but will not be picked for the final U20s squad. We will be looking for players who are athletic, determined and who are able to commit to 5/6 weekends (see below for provisional dates) as well as a rigorous fitness plan and a desire to continuously improve themselves. We will be inviting players to attend very soon after the first trials. Please keep this date free if possible. *If you are unable to attend the first trial date but can make the second trial date and would like to be considered for the squad then please email * *[email protected]* <[email protected]>* asap. * *The 2013 Season* Over the last few years, the GB Juniors have performed to a very high standard both at competitions and in their training. We expect to continue this, to improve further and to be competing for gold in 2013. We plan on having 6 weekend training sessions and one weekend tournament before the squad competes at the European Junior Ultimate Championship (EJUC) which will be held between 5th & 10th August 2013 (location TBC). The provision dates for training are: - 2nd trials / 1st training: 23/24 Feb (confirmed) - 2nd training: 16/17 Mar - 3rd training: 6/7 Apr - 4rd training: 27/28 Apr - 5th training: 18/19 May - Tour 2: 22/23 June - 6th training: 20/21 July · We expect those selected to be able to make most of these weekends and also to be available to participate in the EJUC. We will hopefully finalise dates and location for the training weekends after the first trial but it is likely to be as above and in the Warwick or Birmingham area.
