Yes it is possible to change it after sending, but not after the submission
deadline (except in response to our comments).
You proposal is looking good but I would be interested in seeing a better
example of code reduction (the string comparison example you picked isn't a
good one for reasons we can discuss on IRC). Also, the schedule you propose is
rather vague. It'd be better to identify three or four specific refactoring
goals from a simian run or something similar so progress can be measured.
Otherwise, the detail you have is looking great, especially the background
about yourself. Looking forward to reading more!
