Anurag,

Welcome to the BRL-CAD project! You successfully managed the Google
Summer of Code application process. Now it's time to think about the
coming task. (However, it shouldn't be necessary to write a new
ray-trace algorithm for BRL-CAD. The existing one does quite a good
job ;)

You should look for possible parameters to a voxelize function. E.g.
how this function will decide whether an rectangular region is a voxel
or not. It's easy if this rectangle is inside a region but how do you
handle the borders? You'll have to associate the voxels to a distinct
region each. Which parameters would influence this mapping?

On the other side you have to think about the possible result formats.
As you wrote in your proposal the output should be used by fluid
dynamics and volume rendering codes. Theses programs do not know
about BR-CAD and arb8s. You should discuss the file format of an
output on the mailing list and IRC. There are probable some people
who have such formats in mind.

I.e., before you start programing at May 21st you should clarify these
points: Which parameters do you need for which feature and which
functions do you need and how to cascade them.
