I converted (.g file) model of 'L' to dxf file using g-dxf by
referring:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/brlcad/forums/forum/362510/topic/4731219

and got output on screen as:

{varticalLeg} u {HorLeg}
20 triangles written

When the generated dxf file opened in LibreCAD Version: 1.0.1, there
was nothing to see. It showed two layers: 0 and /l.r

During import in SolidWorks:

and after import:

Tried in AutoCAD 2010, got message:

Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

Further, the problem was reported to AutoCAD and got reply mentioned
undersigned which conclude that there is a strange bug.

Also, on opening the file in a text editor, it was found that file was
not made as per the dxf specifications of AutoCAD.

Please look into the issue.

Test made in win XP latest code:

File->open, select l.dxf
result: file are correct opened and 3dface converted to polylines

File->close, then reopened from recent files list
result: file are opened, layer are present but 3dface are not imported

Conclusion:
This seems a very strange bug, I need more time to investigate.

About opening with AutoCAD:
Layer definition is incomplete, do not have code 70 (flags) and 62 (linetype)
And layer name contains invalid chars "/" & "."
