I asked from the developer of WebGLU regarding the NURBS support and he said he is no longer actively developing it but he welcomed me to pursue this task. I expressed my willingness to work on this and now waiting for further reply from last one day. To accomplish above task, I also recently studied about the basics of curve modeling, Bezier and NURBS curves. However they are such vast topics that one need sufficient time to read, understand and experiment. But I get a very basic idea of them and if need arises I will refer further resources. Now exploring GLU's NURBS implementation. > The point was that one is not likely to encounter NURBS OBJ files as little > software supports them. Most only support polygonal OBJ files. If that's the case, then I think hooking that piece of code of facetize command to generate NURBS OBJ files is not required for this project as current software(s) do not support NURBS OBJ files and on the other hand polygonal OBJ files are not useful because of lacking robustness as you said in earlier emails. So I think, I can do either (1) implementing NURBS support to WebGLU or (2) convert NURBS geometry into Bezier curves. Currently I'm looking into both of these. -- Harmanpreet Singh Blog: http://singhharman.wordpress.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ See everything from the browser to the database with AppDynamics Get end-to-end visibility with application monitoring from AppDynamics Isolate bottlenecks and diagnose root cause in seconds.
