Henry, that sounds like a good to me. I often recommend people prepare two
proposals if they're serious working with our org if there's a chance that
there are multiple strong candidates proposing work in the same area.
However, make sure you have time to put in an appropriate level of detail into
both. It's better to have one strong complete proposal than two mediocre. If
you can make them both strong, by all means.
As for DXF import support, I might suggest looking at turning BRL-CAD's DXF
importer into a simple reusable library, integrating that into OpenSCAD. It
would be trivial to make it into an API similar to dxflib and our parser has
been pretty robust. Plus, our license is more liberal. Something to think
about that would help bridge our communities.
