Sorry for not getting back to the list quicker on this.  It appeared to me
that mged or some other program it ran was trying to die "gracefully" and
printed the illegal instruction message to stderr.  So I assumed I had
configured the build wrong.  Also I did a little testing to see what things
would generate the illegal instruction message, and it seemed anything with a
curved surface more complex than a sphere or cone would do it when it was
displayed.

Thanks for the detective work Simon, I was going to try running this in a
debugger to see if could squeeze out some more info but I didn't have any time
to do that this weekend.  As soon as my current backup run is over this
morning, I'll try to build it without the SSE check.  I, of course, have no
idea what that means, but I'll try it anyway.  It seems from the back trace on
the crash logs I did get, that the error is related to nanosleep, so I get the
feeling you're on the right track.

I'll put the results back on the mailing list post haste.
