I encountered the tutorials that didn't quite work as I expected and found a few spots where I didn't know how to continue. Then I got side-tracked to other things. Finally a bad HD forced me to re-install a newer version of the OS (Debian Linux) from scratch and that's where I am today. I haven't re-installed brlcad yet.
