Didn't solve the problem. It just isolated it. :)

Thanks, that is rather unusual (even for the unstable X11 libs on Mac). Do you
have multiple versions of X11 installed? What libraries does it report being
used if you set DYLD_PRINT_LIBRARIES=1 before running? Anything other than
/usr/X11/lib ?
